Real Madrid assistant coach Davide Ancelotti has revealed that it was actually his father, Carlo Ancelotti, who offered him to Real Madrid last summer while he was still at Everton.
“He proposed himself to Real Madrid and said look, if you want to call then I’m here. They took a little time to think about it and called back, so he didn’t hesitate for a moment,” said Davide.
“We love Real Madrid as much as we love Milan, so a season like this is a dream.”
Real Madrid won the 2021/2022 Champions League after beating Liverpool 1-0 thanks to a goal from Vinicius Junior and a string of superb saves from Thibaut Courtois.
This is the fourth time Ancelotti has won the Champions League and the second with his son.
“I feel empty, I still need to realize what happened. We’ve done something extraordinary, it’s going to happen to me soon,” said Davide.
“Just getting to the Final against a team like this is very difficult, we’ve done incredible things with these players this season. When the players do that, it works wonders,” he said.
In addition to the Champions League, Ancelotti also presented the La Liga title to Real Madrid.
