Chelsea could reportedly ask for one of three Inter Milan players to be included in the deal to let Romelu Lukaku return to the San Siro.
Lukaku has been linked with a Stamford Bridge exit after failing to meet his £97.5m price tag. Lukaku has only scored eight goals in 26 appearances in the Premier League.
Lukaku admits he misses returning to Inter Milan just months after returning to the English capital.
A report from The Guardian suggested that Lukaku would be allowed to return to the San Siro for the right price, but the Italian giants are trying to negotiate a loan.
Lukaku is under contract at Chelsea until 2026. The Blues could get 20 million pounds to let the 29-year-old leave on loan.
Chelsea and Inter are also rumored to be splitting the burden of Lukaku’s salary of £200,000 per week.
According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea have identified three players they would like to take in a swap deal for Lukaku, including striker Lautaro Martinez.
The 24-year-old scored 21 goals in Serie A last term, although he recently extended his stay with the Nerazzurri until the summer of 2026.
However, Martinez’s agent, Alejandro Camano, does not anticipate the striker’s departure in the near future.
“Of course, his profession as a footballer is paramount, but until now I have no reason to think that he will leave,” he told FCInterNews.
“The truth is a player who scores as many goals as he does in a difficult league like Italy’s top flight has not gone unnoticed, but he still has four years left on his contract. There is no reason to leave.”
Meanwhile, Milan Skriniar’s future is more uncertain. The Slovakian now has just 12 months left on his contract with Inter.
Skriniar scored four goals in 48 appearances for Simone Inzaghi’s side last season.
