Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, is reportedly ready to cut his squad following the arrival of Darwin Nunez and plans to bring in other players. Klopp may be ready to release five players from Anfield.

Liverpool have completed an expensive deal by bringing Darwin Nunez from Benfica for 85 million pounds (Rp 1.5 trillion). The Uruguayan striker scored 34 goals in all competitions last season and has signed a six-year contract which is a club record transfer fee.

Jurgen Klopp doesn’t seem satisfied with the arrival of Nunez alone. The Reds are planning to bring in another signing this summer after sealing the signatures of Nunez and Fulham wonderkid Fabio Carvalho.

The player being targeted is Calvin Ramsay from Scottish club Aberdeen. The two parties have reportedly reached a verbal transfer agreement with a value of 4 million pounds. Ramsay will be plotted as a cover for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Klopp is actually also interested in signing Borussia Dortmund youngster, Jude Bellingham. However, Dortmund were reluctant to let him go this year after losing Erling Haaland, so Liverpool may have to wait until the summer of 2023.

With that long-term plan and also following the arrival of Darwin Nunez, Jurgen Klopp inevitably has to reduce his players. Who are the candidates?

As quoted from the Mirror, Friday (17/6/2022), the first player who is likely to leave Liverpool is Sadio Mane. In fact, before Nunez docked, the Senegalese player was already planning to leave Anfield.

Sadio Mane is reportedly looking to move to Bayern Munich after spending six seasons with the Reds. He is said to have reached a three-year verbal agreement with Bayern.

However, so far Liverpool have not reached an agreement with the Bundesliga giants. Bayern Munich has twice made offers, but Liverpool rejected it because the value did not match.

Meanwhile, Nat Phillips helped Bournemouth secure a return to the top flight last season. The centre-back could return to the south coast on loan or on a permanent basis.

Williams’ story is not much different. He impressed while on loan at Fulham in the second half of last season.

Nottingham Forest is said to be interested in using his services.
