Manchester City striker Raheem Sterling is reportedly interested in joining Chelsea this summer.
The 27-year-old’s future at the Etihad Stadium is believed to be uncertain. He will soon enter the final year of his contract. The arrivals of Erling Braut Haaland and Julian Alvarez could threaten his playing time under Pep Guardiola.
Sterling has previously been linked with Real Madrid and AC Milan. However, the latest news, Sterling could remain in the Premier League. Chelsea are at the forefront of getting his signature.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel and new owner Todd Boehly are interested in signing Sterling. They are aware of City’s willingness to sell the forward this summer for between £50 and £60m.
Romano added that Sterling was interested in a move to Stamford Bridge and the Blues were now preparing to make a new offer after an initial offer of £21.5m plus add-ons was rejected last week.
However, it is reported that there has been a personal agreement between Sterling and the Chelsea hierarchy. Both sides believe a full agreement can be reached this summer.
Sterling, who grew up in London and represented Queens Park Rangers at youth level, has spent the last seven years with Man City, registering 131 goals and 95 assists in 339 appearances across all competitions, as well as winning a total of 12 trophies.
Previously, Raheem Sterling asked the club for time. He needs to think carefully about his future options.
This is because Sterling is not young anymore. So, he must be careful in making career steps in the future.
That’s why Sterling took more time to think about the incoming offer with the agent and his family.
